The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. (John 10:10 NKJV)
My son (age 9) summarized John 10:10 by saying “The enemy comes to steal, kill, and destroy and Jesus came to give, heal, and create.”
Out of the mouths of babes!
It is a good reminder that we have a very real enemy.
The enemy is not other people– we are to love our neighbor (whether vaxxed or unvaxxed).
The enemy is not ideas that challenge our illusion of comfort or control.
The enemy is not some nefarious “other” (although the enemy does use people and situations).
Each day we choose (with our thoughts, words, and deeds) either life (God’s Kingdom) or death (the enemy)
What can we do to counter the enemy?
When the enemy steals (hope, etc) , we can give
When the enemy kills..… we can heal (this is within our authority as believers….and we can work toward healing)
When the enemy destroys….we can create.
I choose life.
What do YOU choose?
What is on YOUR “to do list”?

I love the reminder that we have choices in life and that language matters.
